Title: Federal Nondiscrimination Law Regarding Diversity: Implications for Higher Education Financial Aid and Scholarship Policies and Programs

A recent report released by the College Board, Education Counsel, and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators provides guidance on how institutions can design and implement scholarship and financial aid programs that improve the outcomes of students from diverse backgrounds in legally sustainable ways.

The report includes a discussion about federal nondiscrimination law that corresponds to admissions and financial aid awards. The authors also provide considerations for the delivery and design of financial aid programs, internal assessments that review how aid is awarded, and how institutions communicate aid programs and their policies to internal and external audiences.
