Lucia Brajkovic is a senior research specialist at ACE’s Center for Internationalization and Global Engagement. She also serves as the executive director of the Higher Education Initiative for Southeastern Europe.
Brajkovic completed her doctoral degree at the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education. Her dissertation research focused on political economy and higher education systems in post-socialist countries of Central and Eastern Europe. She is also exploring the internationalization of U.S. higher education, and the connections of elite universities with industry and the corporate world, particularly with transnational corporations. During the course of her doctoral program she served as a Fulbright Fellow at the Institute of Higher Education, a graduate research assistant at UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, a summer graduate research associate and later a consultant at ACE.
Prior to coming to the United States, she worked as a public relations and special projects officer at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
